I agree, 100%. The more years I spend in woodworking the more I want to work from tree > lumber > furniture. At some point I’d love to have a kiln, probably start solar and go from there.
There is a guy close to me that gets trees from arborist to mill and dry. He then sells it. From the looks of it there is no shortage of logs coming his way.

@jeshimp Great question. We are planning to offer plans and courses shortly. We just launched 2 months ago, so doing our best to get them out as soon as possible. We plan to offer free plans and a marketplace for plans and courses to be purchased. Courses and plans take some time to produce, so we’re working on that now. We’ll keep you posted and will hopefully have an update soon. Thanks for your patience.
If you and thoughts on types or specific plans or courses you’d like to see, we are all ears for that feedback. 👍

@pgoetz0428 I wanted to invite you to this forum. I’d love to hear about you experience, tips, and tricks building your shop. I’m right behind as I reorganize my garage shop, so I’ll have some questions on setup, flow, tool wall, etc.

@jfarris95 As you build out your basement shop this forum might be helpful.
I’m about to rebuild my garage shop as well, so will be sharing more.

@characterredworkshop Here’s the hand tool restoration forum if you are interested. Would be great to hear how you plan to restore your Stanley’s.

How’d this finish up for you? Any finished or progress pics you can post to the main activity feed? I’d love to see it!

Where is the splintering happening? If at the back of the cut where the blade is exiting, add a scrap piece behind your 1X4 to support the wood fibers from tearing out. You can also try wrapping with blue painters tape, then cut through the tape. That will also support the wood fibers. Yes, a higher tooth cross cut or combo blade would help since you are cutting cross grain, not ripping. Let’s us know what you find success with.

Looks great! I like the modern design element of the upper right corner.

This is awesome! I’d love for makers to share plans with one another.

Feels good to see a shop so organized. I’m a fan of the “between the stud” racks. Great use of space.

I’m checking with the tech team, but you may not be able to add photos to a forum discussion. There is not a camera icon, and if you paste a pic it may not post as @Ross experienced. I’m double checking. To be honest there were 1000s of little decisions like this I had to make, and I can’t remember everything. 😂 I’ll confirm, good feedback. Thank you!
