I have ben making furiture since the 8th grade. I am 80 years old (2021), so that was a long time ago. I am still making furniture for my family and friends. Rarely, do I sell anything. My favorite wood to use is cherry. Although, I have used black walnut, white and red oak, white ash and poplar. These are all local varities that are available from a sawmill about 4 miles from home. I get these kiln dried for $2.00/bf, but I get random length, random width to get that price.
