Bio | My name is Shane Mitchell, and I am a father, husband, woodworker, and content creator. I design and build modern woodworking projects to share with fellow woodworkers. I work on projects as often as I can, usually a project every three weeks. Most of my projects end up on my YouTube Channel, Timber Biscuit Woodworks. I enjoy the craftsmanship and the design aspect of woodworking, and I try to show the process in a way that combines education and artistry. I have not spent my life in a woodshop, and in reality, I spend most of my time behind a desk. But when I’m in the shop, I find that a lot of the stresses of the outside world fade away and I’m able to live in the moment mainly because I don’t want to lose my fingers from lack of attention. I come from a design background and even graduated with a Graphic Design degree from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2010. So I mean it when I say I want to showcase the art of woodworking. Most of the projects I make are one-off pieces that I design for my friends and family, and rarely ever do I sell any of my work. I started this YouTube channel because I wanted to get back in touch with that creative side and share my experiences doing so with the world. I don’t make the most complex pieces in history, nor do I claim to be the most excellent woodworker. I do have a passion for the craft, and I try to push myself deeper and deeper into it with every project. Woodworking is a repetitive process involving high-speed metal knives to remove material from chucks and slices of wood. And it is in that sometimes chaotic process that I find peace. I hope that you all enjoy this journey with me and that we learn something together along the way. Thank you for your support and welcome to the shop. If you want plans for any of the projects you have seen on my channel, they are available in my Shop.
